Addy Borgmeier takes a corner in girls soccer.
Judge athletics are transitioning regions and classifications for the 2025-27 school years. The Bulldogs will now be members of UHSAA 4A Region 10. They will face Cottonwood High School, East High School, Highland High School, Jordan High School, Juan Diego Catholic High School, Murray High School, and Park City High School.
In the 2024 girls soccer season East and Highland competed in 5A Region 6, finishing the regular season with RPI rankings of 10th and 22nd places respectively. 4A Region 10 in 2024 included Cottonwood, Jordan, Murray, and Park City. Cottonwood finished 26th, Jordan finished 14th, Murray finished 16th, and Park City finished fifth. Judge competed with Juan Diego in 3A Region 14 with Juan Diego finishing in eighth.
Almost all of Judge’s sports teams will be making this move, one of these key teams being the girl soccer team.
The girls soccer program went 16-1 in the 2024-25 season, losing in the 3A state semifinal by one goal to Morgan. The team was led in scoring by sophomore Emily Christianson, and led in assists by sophomore Lily Wikstrom. I had a chance to speak with Wikstrom about her thoughts on the move to 4A.
Wikstrom expressed her excitement about the move to 4A, because she was looking forward to playing new teams and having better competition. She said, “I think our team will do pretty well. I’m hoping that we’ll win against better teams, and overall do better than we did last year.” She also mentioned that the ultimate goal is to win a state championship as well as to get a good experience out of the season.
“I’m most excited to play East,” she said. “I have a lot of friends who play for them, and I think it’ll be fun to rematch against them, because we beat them last year.”
