The girls swim team has won the 3A state championship five years in a row. But next year they’re in the same region with returning 4A state champion Park City, and a strong Highland girls team that finished fourth in 5A.
As J is set to move into Utah’s 4A classification for the 2025–2026 school year, the girls swim team is embracing the challenge with determination and confidence. Judge’s girls swim team has always been a dominant team, who recently won their fourth 3A state title in a row. But now they will face more competition and hopefully more rewarding wins.
“I think that the team’s overall performance…will be better, but I also think it’s going to be hard to keep winning consistently because it’s a new region,” said Olivia Lee, a member of the team.
The team is looking forward to the change, as it means the girls will be able to compete against different schools and will have more opportunities. “Yeah, I would say that I’m excited. I think it’s going to be fun to compete against harder teams, especially for the really good club swimmers on our team,” Lee added.
With a legacy of triumph and a roster of dedicated swimmers, Judge Memorial’s girls swim team is ready to jump into this new opportunity. “I think that Judge will be able to keep its competitiveness,” said Lee. “ I don’t know if it’s going to be as much as it was before just because for 3A the Judge swim team was so dominant, but I definitely think that it’ll still be a competitive arena.”
With this opportunity comes many more challenges, and the girl’s team feels that they can meet these expectations and they hope to succeed. The Bulldogs are positioned to face the competition and maintain their streak of victory.
