Judge Memorial Catholic High School’s fundraising flagship, the Students for Students annual fundraiser, is positively booming. At $35,169, it has already surpassed the woah of the pandemic and is on pace to break $50,000. The new software being used, Snap Raise, is a major part of this. Its modern design and easy to use interface have allowed students to easily distribute links to the campaign and collect money from donors. Gifts and prize drawings have incentivized students to collect payments at record breaking pace.
However, there are some issues that could certainly be worked upon for future fundraisers. For one, there wasn’t enough hype pre-donation. There should be a lot more explosiveness in the announcement. The largest problem is Snap Raise itself. Though intuitive, a 20% cut is a lot of money, especially considering that the snap raise does none of the work besides providing the platform. In future years, judges should consider building their own fundraising platform, possibly with Mailchimp or some other money collecting service.
Even with these issues, this year’s students for students fundraising campaign is performing a cake walk to previous years. Hopefully, this will benefit students in the months ahead, and in the school for years to come.
