The animal service club is an up-and-coming organization within Judge Memorial Catholic High School. The Club is run by the president, Ashley Brosten, a sophomore here at Judge Memorial. She works with Human Geography teacher, Dr. Esson, the teacher in charge of the club.
The club meets every other Wednesday right after school in Dr. Esson’s room. So far this year, the club participants have collected towels for the Humane Society. The group is currently reusing old clothes to make some pastimes for dogs, and in the future, plans to do similar projects related to giving.
“Currently, we’re working on making dog toys out of old t-shirts, we are going to do more service projects, like making dog beds, and we might see if we can go on a service trip,” Brosten said.
The club was started roughly two years ago because a rather eccentric student felt passionate about giving back to the community of animals. Although very devout to the club, she said it does not fill a very specific void in the school.
“It’s a fun way to get service hours and a good place for people who love animals,” Brosten admitted.
Finally, if anyone wants to join this club, you can contact Ahsley or Dr. Esson via email.
