On October 16th, Judge students traveled all over the Salt Lake Valley to do service work for non-profit organizations. This is called Christ the King Service Day, and it’s one of the best opportunities for Judge students to make a difference in their community and make connections with non-profits so they can come back for future service opportunities.
I went to 4th Street Clinic, a health clinic for the homeless downtown. Before starting service, the team at the clinic shared their mission with us. They provide basic healthcare, hygiene products, and refer people who need more serious care to the University of Utah healthcare system. It’s always great to hear that there are organizations making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged people in our community.
My advisory helped out by folding and organizing shirts and hygiene products and doing yard work outside. The clinic is in an area with a large homeless population, so we were able to see firsthand how vulnerable these people are and how important organizations like 4th Street Clinic are for them.
