On October 12, Ms. Sabotka and Ms. Brand’s advisories went to the Fourth Street Clinic. When the groups arrived they helped make cleaning kits for people’s needles. This made it so that when the people went to shoot up, they would not be spreading diseases like HIV and AIDS.
“It kind of gives you a peek into what a lot of people are experiencing, that you might not realize yourself because you live in a house your parent makes a large income and don’t have to deal with these kinds of things yourself,” Sabotka said.
“Service really makes you feel an empathy for other people,”Cory Thomas the base coordinator of the clinic said.
Sabotka added that doing service at the clinic was eye opening and is a great example of what service day at Judge is.
