The Creator
Austin Harlan
The movie I’m choosing to review is the Creator directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Gemma Chan and John David Washington.
The movie is set in 2070 15 years before the A.I., created by the U.S. Government nuclear bombed L.A. killing millions of humans. The U.S. has raged war against these A.I. people who have become self conscious. An ex-military special forces operator named Joshua is sent to kill the “Creator”. The “Creator” is a human who has been creating all the A.I. and the U.S. government believes if they kill them then they win the war. But the “Creator” made a new A.I. that is more powerful than any A.I. ever created his name Alphie. Joshua comes across Alphie and captures him but he feels bad and can’t decide whether to kill him or not.
I think this movie is a really good movie. They do an amazing job with the backstory so you are not confused on a decently complicated plot. Their casting is really good and each actor does a great job. There are very good plot twists in this movie to keep you interested but not too many so it’s confusing. A plot like humans versus robots seems basic but this movie is not basic whatsoever. They use great imagery throughout the Pacific to keep you interested. The action in this movie is also amazing. This Movie does not have too much action so that it leaves out character development. The scenery pairs really well with the action and sets the stage well. I think it’s 66% on rotten tomatoes is not an accurate representation of the movie and I believe it should be in the 80s. This is an amazing movie overall and I would recommend this movie for anybody above 13.
