Boys soccer beats Providence Hall

Goalie Kolby Sessions scores a goal on Senior Night

On April 18 the Judge boys soccer team played their third-to-last region game against Providence Hall. But this was no typical game for the Bulldogs; it was senior night for the six seniors playing their final home game.

Those graduating seniors are Jacob Thomas, Kolby (Fish) Sessions, Christian Donelson, Olivier Baende, Luke Hartung, and Nickel Dalton. These soon-to-be alumni were treated to a ceremony during halftime of the game where they were honored for their time at Judge. Of that bunch, only one has decided to pursue soccer at a collegiate level, that person being Fish Sessions. He has decided to commit to St. Mary’s University, where he will play Division 1 soccer.

Judge ended up winning the game 6-0. This would be a surprising scoreline if you had only watched the first half of the game, where Judge was only up by one goal thanks to a freekick from midfielder and sophomore Ted O’Brien.

In contrast, the second half was a completely different story, where the O’Brien secured two more goals, getting his first hat trick of the season. After that, seniors Luke Hartung and Olivier Baende scored on their ceremonial senior night. However, the biggest story of the night came when goalkeeper Fish Sessions scored his first-ever in-play goal. Sessions had been waiting for that moment all season, and he did not slip up. Sessions kept his composure and used a no-look technique, giving Judge their sixth goal of the night.
