For the first time since the pandemic, Judge students will be going to school virtually.
This Thursday, Nov. 9, students will work from home, rather than coming into school. According to vice principal, Ms. Louise Hendrickson, there are several reasons we are having this day:
- To provide an opportunity for students to continue and improve skills in a blended learning format. Blended learning is the most innovative, forward-thinking practice for education today and will continue to be the model in the future.
- To provide students an opportunity for independent quiet learning for a day (also there will be a day in the spring).
- It offers the opportunity to allow some flexibility in students creating their schedules for the day.
- It provides an opportunity for teachers to continue their Professional Development where they will be attending various workshops in various areas of learning more about teaching, best practices, new models, current trends, etc.
There are many positives to virtual learning. According to Hendrickson, virtual learning will improve in excellence if we offer teachers the professional development needed to learn new skills and practices. Overall, it’s an opportunity for growth for students and teachers throughout our school.
Hendrickson encourages students to enjoy tomorrow in regards to an “ease in schedule and not commuting to school for the day.” She advised students to take advantage of this Virtual Learning Day, and take it as an opportunity to to grow.
