The NFL season is nearing the end. This weekend is the NFC and AFC championships. The teams in contention for the Super Bowl are the Kansas City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens, the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers. On Sunday, January 28, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens play at 3:00 pm eastern time in the NFC Championship. The Ravens are the favorite to win however, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelcey, Taylor Swift and the rest of the Chiefs organization is not a team to count out. The Chiefs are the defending champions and have been playing very well in the postseason. At 6:30 pm eastern time, the AFC championship commences. The Detroit Lions face the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers have had an incredible season and are favorites to win the Super Bowl. They are led offensively by Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle and Deebo Samuel. Defensively, Fred Warner and Nick Bosa have been very dominant this season and will be an issue for the Lions. However, Jared Goff and the Lions have been on an incredible playoff push. Offensive leaders like Amon Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs have been on fire recently. Defensively, defensive end Aiden Hutchinson has been a wrecking ball and a serious threat to all offensive lines he comes up against. Social media shows that the majority of America wants the Lions to destroy the 49ers.
The Suit Up crew decided to take to the halls of Judge Memorial and ask football fans their personal projections for the NFC and AFC Championships as well as their Super Bowl Predictions. We asked students, teachers and administration about their favorite teams and their projections. The student body at Judge produced some very mixed opinions and strong feelings led to some heated disagreements. This weekend will settle the disputes and America will be treated to some highly intense and entertaining football games.
