In March 2025, select Judge students went on a school trip to Italy in a long-lasting tradition. Every year, students in Latin classes at Judge, and physical science students, get the opportunity to take a trip to Italy in the spring. Mr. Soran, teacher of both subjects, is the head of the tour.
Grayson Campbell, student in Latin III, said “It was a once in a lifetime experience. My favorite part was swimming in the Mediterranean.”
Ben Klemesrud, a Latin II student who also went, said “I loved going through all the cities, like Florence and Rome, and seeing all the really cool architecture and ancient buildings, which we got to see.”
Campbell said “[Seeing] the architecture, the lifestyle of the people who lived there, was such an experience. I can barely describe it.”
Campbell said the trip impacted him as a Judge student by opening his eyes to a new environment.
“It helps me as a Judge student because it gives me a more wide view of the world, the different people that live in it and shows me just how different the world is.”
What should students know for next year’s trip? Both students recommended being more prepared with clothes.
Campbell said, “Swimming in the Mediterranean in my pants was a bad decision.”
Klemesrud added, “Bring changes of clothes. Please don’t wear the same thing.”
Despite Campbell’s unique aquatic experience, he still recommended coming to the tour.
“I wish everyone could go. I hope it happens again,” said Campbell.
Klemesrud agreed, “Yeah. I can’t wait for it to happen again. This is all thanks to Mr. Saran!”
