Ms. Jennifer Beaumont, who teaches yoga and creative movement at Judge, brings decades of teaching experience to her classes.
“I teach yoga and creative movement,” she explained. “And I serve whatever they need me to.”
Originally from Idaho, Ms. Beaumont began studying ballet at the age of four and continued throughout her life. She earned an undergraduate degree in ballet and later expanded her focus to include modern dance and yoga. After performing professionally for 20 years, she transitioned to teaching, something she began doing at just 16 years old. “I used to go to summer camps and come back and teach all the people at my studio,” she said.
Ms. Beaumont has been connected to Judge for many years, having substituted for yoga classes for about 15 years before joining the faculty full-time. She believes yoga offers students a valuable pause in their busy school day. “It’s a good break in the middle of the day for students to just be able to use their bodies and chill out and not have to think about homework or have to think about anxiety.”
She says her favorite part about teaching at Judge is the strong sense of community.
“I love how it’s a small, tight-knit school,” she said. “I grew up in a small town and went to a teeny tiny high school, and so it kind of reminds me of that feel.”
Outside the classroom, Ms. Beaumont continues her yoga practice at home and often finds inspiration for her classes through her own research. Though confident in her teaching, she admits that adapting to modern systems like Canvas and Skyward has been challenging. Ms. Beaumont’s passion for yoga and dance shows in her classes, helping students find balance and peace in their day.
