The girls basketball team had a dominant win on December 7 beating the North Sanpete Hawks, 63-39.
The Bulldogs started hot scoring 20 points in the first quarter, going into halftime with a 36-20 lead. After the Hawks won the third quarter, outscoring Judge 16-12, the Bulldogs turned up the pressure going on a ridiculous 16-3 run to win the game.
Elyssia Gallardo scored two threes in the first quarter to get Judge going, as she also ended up leading all players in scoring with 19, and four threes. Freshman Munah Doe came off the bench scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Senior, Acol Daw chipped in 9 points, with guard Kei’Chidey Booker scoring nine as well. Makena Gardner was the leader of the Bulldogs point guard, having seven points, three rebounds, and six assists.
North Sanpete was led by their duo of Evey Kendall and Sadie Job who each scored 13.
As a team, the defense was the story for the Bulldogs being able to win. They got into a press defense early and were able to force turnover after turnover on the Hawks. That defense turned into explosive offensive plays for the girls, getting the crowd going. Great discipline was put on display all night from the plays to defense, to coaching, it was all on point. Coming off a three-game losing streak, it was a much needed win for the Bulldogs to get back into the win column.
North Sanpete dropped to 1-6 on the season.
