When Judge Memorial’s girls soccer jumped from 3A to 4A this season, some wondered if they would be able to keep up. The competition is stronger and the margin for error is smaller. But Judge has proven they belong. The team has opened its 2025 campaign with a 5-3 overall record, 3-3 in region, and as of September 15 sits at 37th in the state. With 28 goals scored and only 17 allowed, the Bulldogs have held their own against the 4A competition.
Last season, thegirls soccer team dominated in 3A with an impressive 16-1 overall record and an undefeated 6-0 region performance, setting the stage for the move up.
For senior goalie Jazzy Zenner, the transition has been nothing but positive.
“I think moving up to 4A was a great idea,” Jazzy said. “The competition is much better. It’s just more fun, more competitive.”
Judge’s schedule now features many bigger schools like East and Park City, who are well known for their excelling girls soccer teams. Jazzy welcomes the challenge.
“The competition is significantly better in 4A. We play East, we play Park City – great teams who gave us good runs,” she said.
Regardless, Jazzy believes the Bulldogs are building in the long run.
“It’s going to be hard. But in the end we’re going to be stronger for the next two years.”
With balanced stats, strong leadership, and a positive outlook, Judge is showing that no matter their classification, they are built to excel. If anything, the Bulldogs are proving that their best soccer might still be ahead.
