Valentine’s Day means different things to different students. Some see it as a fun holiday, while others think it’s just another day that’s become very commercial. Because of this, it can bring excitement for some people and pressure or sadness for others.
Sophomore from Judge, Ella Love said that having a boyfriend makes the day “a little more special,” but she still sees it as more of an ordinary day than a real holiday. She also mentioned that Valentine’s Day can be positive for people in relationships but a bit harder for people who are single.
Sophomore also from Judge, Sam Hoagland sees Valentine’s Day as a real holiday and thinks it is mostly positive. He believes it can be about more than just romantic relationships, since many people also celebrate with family and friends.
Overall, Valentine’s Day affects students in different ways. Whether it’s a holiday or just another day, it’s clear that everyone experiences it differently.
